Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
